Miguel Indurain, a cyclist and five times Tour de France winner, had a resting heart rate of 28 beats per minute, one of the lowest ever recorded in a healthy human.
Cyclist of the day: Fausto Coppi. Dude won the Giro d' Italia five times (once at 20 years old), the Giro d' Lombardia five times, the Tour de France twice, Milano-Sanremo three times, and two more races. He also set the hour record on the track.
A machine. He died in 1959 from malaria on a bike/hunting trip in Africa. Oh and in the middle of his cycling career he was in World War II for 5 years and was captured.
